Sir Lanka: Ban on importing mobile phones?
A significant increase in the price of mobile phone accessoires has been reported in Sri Lanka today, as revealed by the Association of Mobile Phone Importers and Sellers in Sri Lanka.
There is currently a shortage of portable phones in the country.
Purchasing of new mobile phones by the public has also drastically reduced, at the same time prices of spare parts and mobile phone accessories have significantly increased.
A battery normally costing Rs. 450 is sold at Rs. 1500 due to the current import ban.
The list of articles includes cosmetics, electrical appliances, boats, ships, planes, electrical appliances and electrical equipment and construction materials, chocolate and other food products such as cocoa, concentrated milk, coconut milk, roses, beauty or cosmetic products make-up, deodorants and shampoos.
With claims, if the goods on the suspended list were dispatched on the 23rd of August 2022. They arrived at ports or airports of Sri Lanka on the 14th of September 2022 or before will be authorized for these shipments clearance from customs.
