Swedish telecoms regulator PTS said the five largest operators do have suitable procedures in place to identify and internally report privacy breaches, but says they ought to be more proactive, as customers are tending to notice them before the operators do. The watchdog has been scrutinising Com Hem, Telia, Telenor, Tele2 and 3 Sweden since 2017, looking at how they spot such events and report them in-house.
The scrutiny began because PTS thought there were probably more breaches than were being reported. It said their routines are now good enough for it to end the monitoring of this matter.
