O2 down: Why is 4G and data is down on GiffGaff, Tesco Mobile, Sky and Lycamobile

Thousands of O2 customers in the UK have reported problems using data and 4G services.

Millions of people have been having problems with their mobile phones this morning, after the O2 network went down.

Lots of people have been left without data roaming and found themselves unable to access the internet on their devices. The difficulties were first reported at about 05:30 this morning.

O2 – which is the second-largest mobile network in the country behind EE – issued a statement saying: “We are aware our customers are unable to use data this morning. Our technical teams are working on the issue with high priority.”

O2 has 32 million customers, including people signed up to Tesco Mobile, Sky, Lycamobile and GiffGaff.

Many users have taken to social media to voice their frustration.
