nexus sailfish file leak

Nexus Sailfish file leak reveals processor and screen size of the anticipated Nexus 5X successor. Autumn is not far away and now we know more.

A leaked.prop file for Sailfish, shared by serial leakster Evan Blass, reveals some interesting specs for Sailfish. The file mentions a processor dubbed as “msm8996”, the part number of the Snapdragon 820. The flagship standard processor for devices in 2016 such as the HTC 10, LG G5 and Samsung Galaxy S7.

The Nexus Sailfish file leak also reveals a pixel density of 420, which is usually seen on panels that are roughly 5.2-inches, with a resolution of 1080 x 1920. It looks like Sailfish will have a plain old full HD screen, which isn’t a bad things as FHD is suited for a screen that size.

Huawei opted for a FHD screen on the P9 and it has an excellent display we found. Rumours pointing to Sailfish being a Nexus 5X successor are mounting up thanks to this leak, but if it sports a Snapdragon 820, it would be arguably the best mid-range smartphone if a price similar to the 5X is confirmed.

The file also mentions fingerprints and thumbprints, a strong indication that a sensor will make an appearance.

Nexus Sailfish and Marlin are expected to it a couple of world’s first. They will be the first to run Android Nougat out of the box and utilise Google Daydream, a new virtual reality platform.

Two goods reasons for you right there if you’re thinking of upgrading to Google’s next handsets. If rumours turn out to be true of course. We’ll know more come Autumn so stay tuned with What Mobile.
