MORRISVILLE – TrialCard, a provider of services designed to improve adherence to medications and access to drugs, is expanding its physical footprint to the West Coast by acquiring San Francisco-based Mango Health.
Mango provides medication and adherence services through mobile apps.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
This is the third acquisition TrialCard has made over the past year, including the buying of Raleigh-based RxSolutions in January. A year ago, TrialCard announced plans to add 500 jobs at its Morrisville headquarters.
“This acquisition will allow us to offer a best-in-class engagement and adherence solution to the patients we support with our affordability solutions,” said TrialCard CEO Mark Bouck in the deal announcement.
“For nearly twenty years, TrialCard has been providing the industry’s premier affordability and access solutions for its pharmaceutical industry clients. By adding Mango Health to our services, we feel like we’re raising the bar on what customers should expect from their provider.”
TrialCard believes the addition of Mango will boost efforts to improve medication adherence.
“Non-adherence is a problem that results in the loss of nearly $300 billion to the healthcare industry in the United States alone,” the company says.
“The Mango Health mobile app allows patients to track and manage the medications they take. Using sophisticated behavioral techniques, Mango Health encourages patients’ active participation in their healthcare and provides information about potential drug interactions.”
