State Police Chief Loknath Behera on Saturday formally launched four mobile applications of the Kerala Police.
The applications — Raksha, Dial A Cop, Know Your Jurisdiction and Traffic offence reporting and fine remittance — are aimed at providing vital information to users and ensuring easy delivery of various services.
The Raksha app, which has been been design by startup firm Thought Ripples, will provide relevant information on the activities and services of the police, besides updating its users with alert messages, safety tips, and traffic information. A telephone directory that contains the phone numbers, e-mail IDs of police officials are available. Its other features included provision for several e-services such as online payment of traffic penalties.
The other applications have been designed by the software development team of the Kerala Police, Information Communication and Technology Centre.
The Dial A Cop app enables users to search and to get in touch with police officers or nearest police stations. It also provides emergency contact facilities.
The Know Your Jurisdiction application provides information about the jurisdiction of the police station in which the user is part of. The map and contact details of the police station is also provided for the benefit of the user.
The Traffic offence reporting and fine remittance is intended to enable users to bring offences to the notice of the police and also remit penalties.
Additional Director General of Police (South Zone) Anil Kanth, Inspectors General Manoj Abraham and Dinendra Kashyap were present on the occasion.
