LEELANAU COUNTY, Mi (WPBN/WGTU) — The Leelanau County Sheriff’s Office had a unique call for help early Friday morning.
Just after 3 a.m. the 911 Dispatch Center was called for several Yaks on the loose on North Manitou Trail.
Deputies responded to find 15 of the large animals roaming around. Leelanau County’s Animal Control Deputy and Leland Fire personnel also responded to help round up the animals.
According to deputies, with the exception of one pretty angry bull, the Yaks were enjoying a little freedom. After four hours of convincing, the animals were rounded back up where they belong.
