Unboxing the Chuwi Hi9 Air; a $179.99 Android gaming tablet with 4G LTE

The Chuwi Hi9 Air made its official debut towards the beginning of the year. While it offered a great set of specifications, what made it special was its support for 4G LTE. The tablet's price also makes it quite alluring, hovering around the $200 mark, but currently priced at $179.99.

The tablet comes in ho-hum retail packaging, where the name of the product and its specifications are displayed on the exterior of the matte light brown box. Similar to Chuwi's other products, the internal packaging is also nothing to write home about, the company is clearly not in the business of wowing the customer with the unboxing experience. Inside the box, you'll get the Hi9 Air tablet, charging brick, Micro USB cable, and various pamphlets for warranty.

When it comes to an initial impression, the tablet feels solid in hand and seems to run smoothly thanks to its MediaTek Helio X20 SoC and 4GB RAM. The 10.1-inch IPS LCD with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 also looks pretty good. Hopefully, the tablet will be able to provide plenty of life, as it is packing an 8,000mAh battery. Out of the box, the Hi9 Air is running Android 8.0 Oreo, with Google's April security update. The tablet did manage to receive an update during filming, bumping it to the June security update.

That's pretty much it for now, if you're curious to learn more, stay tuned, as we will have a thorough hands-on of the tablet soon. Also feel free to leave a question or comment down below.
