T-Mobile has been one of the most aggressive wireless carriers when it comes to limiting costs and trying to give users more value for what they pay. Despite that, the company thinks there are some customers out there who may be willing to give up a few perks that normally come with their plans in exchange for small reduction in the monthly bill. Yesterday T-Mobile introduced the new T-Mobile Essentials plan for those consumers who want to reduce their monthly bills even more. At the same time, T-Mobile has bundled several optional features to create a new T-Mobile ONE Plus option for users who want to pile on some extras.
The new T-Mobile Essentials plan limits users to unlimited talk, text and data. The things that you don’t get with T-Mobile Essentials compared to the normal T-Mobile ONE plans include benefits like Netflix, some international access, and unlimited mobile hotspot capability. By giving up those options, users can save 75% for a family of four with the price per line dropping to $30 per line versus $40 per line. The breakdown is $60 for the first line, $30 for the second and then $15 per line for lines three through six. All of those prices are based on signing up for autopay which saves $5 per line.
At the other end of the spectrum, T-Mobile is also targeting users who want some extra benefits. The new T-Mobile ONE Plus gets a new tier of mobile hotspot capability with access to 20GBs of data and unlimited 3G speeds, HD streaming, and Caller ID among other benefits. The new Plus plan will run an extra $10 per line for family plans or $15 for a single line.
These new plans will be available starting this Friday, August 10th.
