Former Samsung UK and Ireland head joins operator more than six months after he left the Korean manufacturer
Simon Stanford has joined O2, taking up a role within its small business department. His exact position and responsibilities are unclear at this time.
It comes after Stanford (pictured) left Samsung last June following a five year stint as UK and Ireland vice president for mobile and IT. That role will be filled by former Nokia UK and Ireland head Conor Pierce from next month.
Stanford was due to join original device manufacturer (ODM) MOJO Maker earlier this month as managing director to help drive sales of its handsets into UK and Ireland mobile operators and retailers.
However, Mobile News understands he rejected this opportunity in order to take up the role at O2.
