Facebook Messenger will have a new feature called Transportation, which will make ordering an Uber even easier.

Uber will be its first partner allowing users to request, receive updates, and pay for a journey without the need for an app. Uber will also send you a receipt through Facebook Messenger too.

Transportation will roll out to US users in regions where Uber operates. Facebook promises more partners and regions will be added to Transportation soon.

US users can sign up to Transportation today by syncing their account to Messenger. First time users of the feature will receive a £20 ride credit.

Whether this will get more people to use Facebook Messenger more remains to be seen. Add more awesome GIFS for us to use then maybe Facebook.
