Facebook makes messaging quirky with video apps, plays to young users
With Messenger Platform, developers can now build apps for the service, in turn, giving users more ways to share media without leaving their chat screens. Facebook featured about 40 apps in the Messenger launch, including two from video startup Joya: FlipLip and Cleo.

Nearly 60 percent of adults say “access is the new ownership,” a nod to the coming boom in the sharing economy, according to a new PwC Consumer Intelligence Series report. That means hot companies ranging from ride-hailing service Uber to house-rental player Airbnb are likely to generate like-minded offspring as consumers look to leverage tech to save money.
