As we come closer to the launch of the 2018 Apple iPhone lineup, the intensity of leaks have also increased. This time the rumoured ‘iPhone Xs’ has surfaced on the web in few images, showing what might be new from Apple from the iPhone design and looks perspective. The image shared by Slash leaks shows the smartphone 6.1-inch LCD iPhone in three different colours, of which two are new.
The images show the rumoured iPhone in Red, White and Blue. While White was introduced by Apple last year with the iPhone X, Red and Blue colours may be the new ones this time. With this, the Cupertino-based tech firm could be aiming to bring something similar to what we saw with the iPhone 5C – colourful options in iPhones at a lesser price tag. We also see that all three are sporting glassy back panels unlike the glass and metal look iPhones have been featuring since years.
The images cement the rumours of the 6.1-inch iPhone having a single rear camera. At the bottom you see two speakers on either side with a port in the middle. The rear camera bump still exists. On the right you get a power button along with SIM card slot. In addition, the antenna lines can be seen on the sides. The volume buttons and the mute switch are on the left.
What’s interesting to see here is that one of the images show the smartphone and the colour-matching SIM tray that has slots for two SIM cards. The feature has been in rumours since months and might just turn in to reality on September 12. If true, this may also be the first for the company. Back in April, reputed analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted that the Cupertino-based tech firm could finally bring dual SIM card support in the 6.1-inch LCD model. There might be a different model with single SIM support.
Kuo said that the arrival of the dual-SIM supporting iPhone could introduce a completely new price segment for the smartphone series. As per the predictions, the single SIM Apple iPhone may cost between $550 and $650, which the dual-SIM version of the 6.1-inch LCD model may be priced anywhere between $650 and $750. In addition, Kuo thinks the dual-SIM model is likely to increase iPhone’s market share in countries like China and India.
Apple has already sent out iPhone launch invitation to media houses. According to the invitation, on September 12 (10.30PM) Apple will be launching the new iPhone devices, which are rumoured to be iPhone X Plus, iPhone Xs and the 6.1-inch LCD iPhone models at its Steve Jobs Theatre. The invite says ‘Gather Round, Please join us at the Apple special event at the Steve Jobs theatre in Cupertino’ along with a circular design.
