In leaked emails it was revealed Daniel Craig and Sam Mendes were not in favour of using Sony handsets for Spectre.

Both lead actor and director respectively, were in agreement that “James Bond only uses the ‘best’, and in their minds the Sony phone is not the ‘best,’” according to leaked emails from producer Barbara Broccoli. The email did not disclose which phone the two of them would have preferred.

Samsung were also in the picture with a $50 million bid  for a product placement opportunity in the latest Bond film. Both Samsung and Sony offered to pay Craig $5 million to be seen using their devices in Spectre.

Sony made an advert for the Sony Xperia Z5 which implies that James Bond uses Sony’s latest smartphone. Daniel Craig and Sam Mendes were not involved with the production, Naomie Harris who plays Miss Moneypenny starred in the advert.
