CFO and former T-Mobile UK boss Richard Moat steps in temporarily after Hribar informs Irish telecoms provider not to renew his contract

Eircom CEO Herb Hribar has quit the Irish telecoms provider after two years after informing the company not to renew his contract.

Hribar had joined Eircom in August 2012, replacing the outgoing Paul Donovan. He had joined after an 18-month stint as CEO of US-based ethernet management services provider CENX for 18 months. He had also previously been Eircom’s managing director of wholesale and networks.

He has been replaced by Group CFO Richard Moat on an interim basis while Eircom searches for someone to fill the role permanently.

Moat joined the company at the same time as Hribar, and was formerly EE deputy chief executive and chief financial officer. He had previously been managing director of T-mobile UK.

Eircom chairman Padraig McManus said: “During the past two years, Herb has led Eircom through a critical juncture of our transformation and overseen a network investment programme that has significantly upgraded our capability. He has tirelessly dedicated himself to reshape the company and deliver world class products and services to our customers.

“As an executive director of Eircom, Richard’s experience, knowledge and enthusiasm for the business will ensure Eircom continues to build on its recent successes.”
