China Mobile reported operating revenue of CNY 668.3 billion for 2015, which represents an increase of 2.6 percent year-on-year. Revenue from telecommunications services totaled CNY 584.1 billion, down 1.3 percent compared to 2014. EBITDA was CNY 240 billion, down by 0.7 percent. Profit reached CNY 108.5 billion, down 0.6 percent.
For the first time, the company’s revenue from data services exceeded its revenue from voice services, accounting for 52 percent of revenue from telecommunications services, China Mobile said.
China Mobile ended 2015 with 826 million mobile customers, up by 2.4 percent from 2014. The company’s 4G network has approximately 1.1 million base stations, and covers over 1.2 billion people, with average download speeds on urban roads of 37 Mbps. In 2015, the operator saw a net addition of 200 million 4G customers, bringing its total 4G customer base to over 300 million at 31 December 2015.
