(KUTV) — Five cows and three calves escaped their corral in West Jordan and roamed the nearby neighborhood at 7300 South and 1900 West.
West Jordan Animal Services Manager Dan Eatchel said the small herd of cattle broke a metal latch allowing them to knock down a corral panel leave their pen Wednesday afternoon.
Two animal service officers contained the cows while a third contacted the cattle’s owner.
Once the owner was alerted, he led the cattle with officer assistance back to their corral.
No property was damaged and no injuries were reported to the cows or neighbors.
West Jordan Police Department tweeted, “Last week we had horse whispering going on and this week it is cattle….yep folks, we do it all in WJ. Our animal control officers are awesome! #giddyup #moooo” in regards to the cattle roundup.
